The Westmead Institute for Medical Research (WIMR) is delighted to announce The Paul and Valeria Ainsworth Precision Medicine Research Fellowship.<\/p>\n
This new Fellowship has been established to support the advancement of early to mid-career researchers at WIMR, and WIMR\u2019s pioneering approach to precision medicine. \u00a0It will provide a sum of $160,000 (excl. GST) annually for a three-year term.<\/p>\n
Professor Philip O\u2019Connell, WIMR\u2019s Executive Director said, \u201cThis is an outstanding opportunity for early to mid-career researchers.\u00a0 The Fellowship will be awarded to one high achieving early or mid-career researcher whose research represents an innovative approach to their discipline, using precision medicine as a guiding principle, and demonstrating significant potential for outcomes that can be translated into practice.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Fellow does not have to be a WIMR researcher at the time of application.\u00a0 On appointment, they will need to undertake their research at WIMR within one of WIMR\u2019s 11 established research centres.
\nSpeaking about the Fellowship, Paul and Valeria Ainsworth said, \u201cWe know scientific achievements can transform the lives of people around the world and are proud to have funded genetic research that has led to breakthroughs in scientific knowledge and understanding. The reward of seeing what can be achieved is hugely exciting.<\/p>\n
