Bipolar disorder is a chronic mental health condition, characterised by extreme mood changes. Due to similarities in some symptoms, bipolar disorder is often misdiagnosed as major depressive disorder, which can cause lengthy delays in appropriate treatment.<\/p>\n

\"\"Professor Anthony Harris<\/strong>, Clinical Director of our Brain Dynamics Centre (BDC), will provide an overview of bipolar disorder, including the signs and symptoms, risk factors, and current treatment options.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"Associate Professor Mayuresh Korgaonkar,\u00a0<\/strong>Research Director of BDC will present results from our latest study, which aimed to identify markers that distinguish bipolar disorder from major depression, leading to improved diagnosis and earlier access to vital treatment.<\/p>\n

You’ll also have the opportunity to meet researchers from the Brain Dynamics Centre, learn about their work, and ask questions.<\/p>\n

The event will mark World Bipolar Day, a day that seeks to educate the community about the condition and eliminate social stigma.<\/p>\n
